Taking lessons with or getting coaching from a top pro is the fastest way to get to be a quality musician because, not only does it show you the shortcuts and gives you clear insight on what needs to be worked on, but it also keeps you from developing bad habits from poor instruction, which you then you may have to spend a lot of time UNlearning.
In my case you will be benefiting from over 50 years of playing and intense thinking about how to be a better player. That includes taking many lessons myself (many of which were by sub par instructors who couldn’t play, perform or sing themselves, and therefore were a waste of time and money), and being able to benefit just from the “greatest hits” out of all of that.
Also in having an instructor/coach, it is great to have the accountability of having someone to show where you’re at and how you are developing. That function of having a teacher and coach is invaluable to ensure that you not only know what to do, but you have actually accomplished doing it well.
There are two main ways we can work together:

Coaching
Coaching is where you show me where you are at with a particular skill, and then I comment on where things could be improved and then work with you on that improvement.
Instruction can happen two ways:
My courses and lessons (via email or mail)
Private lessons (via webcam or phone)
Whichever way you choose to go, there will be assignments. And to ensure that you accomplish what the instructions are teaching, there will either be a test, or you will give me a recording or video to show that you achieved what the lesson was for.
